To
end terror, blasts and drug menace in India

It’s
cruel joke to expect from Pakistan to admit that under world don Dawood Ibrahim
is staying in Pakistan and they will hand over him to India. India does not have to make request anymore because things have gone much beyond the point.

The masterminds of one of the most heinous
act of terror the 1993 Mumbai blasts in which 257 people died and 713 were
injured and also involved in 26/11 Mumbai attacks is still at large, in
safe havens. The nation had also witnessed Parliament attack and also other
blasts which linked to Pakistan based terrorist organisations and ISI.
Blasts
in India has become regular affair and it’s high time to take stringent action
and to frame strong genuine policy to end the terror, blasts and all those who are behind it.
So
only way India can get Dawood Ibrahim who is designated as global terrorist
back in India for prosecution is by taking strong action. Or following strong action strategy as US so
brazenly did in
Osama bin Laden case. Yes, there has to be cordial relationship
between the two countries for their progress and maintaining peace. But how can
one expect peace in such charged environment where Pakistan has crossed all the
barriers and have no respect for Principles and moral values.
I can still recall a dialogue
from hindi movie Don “ Don ka intezar to gyarah mulkon ki police kar rahi hain,
lekin ek baat samajh lo, Don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahin, naamumkin hain” Don is wanted by the police of eleven nations,
but understand one thing, catching Don is not just difficult, it's impossible”.
Don and remake of Don is not only the movies there are number of movies of
bollywood where Dagwood the underworld
don is projected as super hero. Dawood links and funding in bollywood is no
secret. Same as the bollywood, Dawood believed to have reasonable links with
the politicians in India and he also funds their elections.
It’s
time when people of country are eagerly waiting for May 16 for Lok Sabha
elections results so that they would have powerful and stable government which could
take decisions. People have all the reason as the corruption has deteriorated
the system, people at many places do not have proper basic amenities such as
food, water, education, proper place to live and unemployment even after so
many years of Independence. And for many this election is just like another
freedom struggle to get Independence.
Now
People of the country also waiting for strong government which can also put an
end to terror and also put behind bar all terrorists. The central government
has to powerful to maintain the democracy and to protect Sovereignty of the country. Dawood issue has again came to limelight
after BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi recently said that the government should
do more and speak less when it comes to capturing terrorists like the
underworld don Dawood Ibrahim while criticising the Home Ministry Sushil Kumar
Shinde.
Once
Dawood Ibrahim offer to surrender
S
Hussain Zaidi the author of Dongri to Dubai in his book said that Dawood too
wanted to surrender after sometime of 1993 blasts with conditions.” Apart from
the charges in the 1993 blasts case, he wanted all previous charges against him
to be dropped. Additionally for the duration of the blasts case, he was to be
kept under house arrest and not in a jail. If these conditions were accepted,
he added that he would surrender. Dawood offer had sent ripples across India
and created uproar in Parliament and Mantralaya in Mumbai”.
But
there was fear among a few politicians of Maharashtra that if Dawood came
back to India then he would reveal so many shady deals and many people include
politicians would be exposed.
S
Hussain Zaidi further said in his book that particular lobby was up in arms
about the conditions laid down by Dawood as part of his surrender. They told
Noted advocate Ram Jethmalani who was consulted by Dawood for surrender that
Dawood would not be allowed to dictate terms and still welcome to surrender and
would be given a fair trial. However non of his conditions would be complied
with, the government said.
Dawood’s drug network
and threat to democracy
In
addition to terrorist’s activities, Dawood believed to have been running
thousands of crore drug racket in many countries include India and reports suggest
that he too has tentacles in region to help him in this trade in India. Drugs
are being smuggled from Afghanistan and Pakistan through Rajasthan border which
eventually supplied in Punjab and Haryana. Drugs consumption in Punjab has
increased manifold and it’s need of the hour to end this drug menace.
Although
all the political parties during their poll campaign had highlighted the issue
of drug menace vigorously, however it required strong intervention of the
Central government with well coordination of the state governments to stop drug
menace in Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan and also in Himachal. Punjab is worst
sufferer of drug terror among the states of Northern India. It requires strong political of all political
parties to end the drug menace in Punjab. Recently the Punjab police had busted
a drug racket gang and seized drugs over six thousands crore from accused
possessions. Even the main accused has named the minister of ruling party
and other influential people in the drug trade. However how can fair investigation expected from the state police expected when their own minister and other influential alleged to be involved. Later drugs issue has rocked in the Punjab like anything with allegation and counter allegations. The allegations were denied by all the influential named in the drug racket. The fair investigation is not
expected in the absence of independent probe by the central agencies.
There
is also urgent need the central government ensure that all our agencies include
Narcotic Control Bureau, Border Security Forces, CBI and ED should have proper
infrastructure, facilities and manpower to end this drug menace and terror. It also requires well coordination between central and state
governments. In addition to it, state governments too have to have strong will power to
provide the best facilities to end the drug menace and save the lives of youths.
Massive seizure of the drugs during Lok Sabha election’s campaign in Punjab and
Haryana has highlighted the urgent need to root out the drugs menace in Punjab
and Haryana.
